Many may not know how dimmer controllers, DMX controllers and or Dimmer packs operate.

It is very simple system. DMX controllers have one set of output and input. Your equipment have the same DMX output and input.

You connect one cable from the controller to the light DMX input. From its output connect to the next light DMX input, then from the second light DMX output connect to the third light's DMX input and so on. The last light in the series has a DMX output that needs connected to the DMX controller's input.

Then you must set the channels, the first light in the loop, is the channel 1, and the second light in the loop must be set on channel two and so on.

Some lights dont have DMX, then you will need the Dimmer pack such as this unit in this sale.

You can connect the cable from your light such as PAR lighting, strobe, blacklights and etc to the back of this controller.

Then with the DMX console that has slider controls and etc, you can dim and strobe, timers operations and many other effects or do what ever the controller offers.

With dimmer packs, you also must know the amperage of your light. The wattage. If high watts, then the circuit breaker will pop.

If your lights are connected to the 10A light circuit in the hall, then you have no problem at all with this dimmer pack. You could connect 12 units to this dimmer pack. This dimmer pack has over loading protection, so you have no problems in that regards.

Sometimes, you can connect a power block to each of the out puts and plug in far more than 12 units. It all depends to the power rating of your lights.
